Alessandra Ballotti

Alessandra Ballotti is Senior Lecturer in Nordic studies at Sorbonne University’s School of Arts, and a member of research team 3556 REIGENN and of the Centre of Ibsen studies at the University of Oslo. Her research interests include Scandinavian coming-of-age literature and the Scandinavian imaginary (From Nordicity to Borealism, 2020; Boreal Topographies and Spirits of Adventure, 2021), cultural and artistic transfers between southern and northern Europe, and popular fiction (“From SKAM to Skam France: Fiction between Intertextuality and Transfer”, Nordic Journal of Francophone Studies, no. 3, 2020, p. 84-94). She is the author of a monograph entitled Immature Heroes in Italian and Scandinavian Modernity (2023) on characters in modern literature and Italian-Scandinavian cultural transfers. She also co-edited the dossiers The Little Scandinavian Hero for the journal Nordiques (no. 38) and Nordic Noir: A Transmedial Device? for the journal Deshima (no. 16). Through her involvement in the Marie S. Curie Fellowship, she examines the reception and circulation of Scandinavian writers in European cultural journals.
